[Montréal, Québec], December 19, 2024 – I’m thrilled to announce that I successfully defended my PhD dissertation! My research explores the tokenization of audiovisual intellectual property rights using blockchain technology, delving into the global implications and applications of this exciting field. I’m incredibly grateful for the guidance and support of my advisors, André Gaudreault and Laurent Creton, and for the generous funding provided by the Consejo Nacional de Humanidades, Ciencias y Tecnologías (CONACYT), México.
The Jury was composed, in order of their speaking turn, by Mr. Jacob Matthews, Professor at the University of Paris 8 Vincennes Saint-Denis, pre-reviewer; Ms. Réjane Hamus-Vallée, Professor at the University of Évry Paris Saclay, pre-reviewer; Ms. Laurence Allard, Lecturer at the University of Lille; Mr. Laurent Creton, Emeritus Professor at the Sorbonne Nouvelle University, co-director of the thesis; Mr. André Gaudreault, Professor at the University of Montreal, co-director of the thesis; Ms. Zaira Zarza, Professor at the University of Montreal, president of the defense jury.
Professor Laurent Creton, a member of my jury, made a particularly valuable comment, noting that:
“Significant research work has been carried out, and the defense constitutes a special moment for the academic community, with all that it implies in terms of presenting scientific results and debates. As the candidate embarked on an ambitious research program, the approach inevitably involved several major challenges, particularly those relating to the choice of the study object, epistemological issues, linguistic questions, and the characteristics of a joint doctoral program, to which he intends to return.”
This achievement marks a fundamental milestone in my professional career and consolidates my vocation for scientific research.
